Baker Thomas
Baker is Head of Business Development at Nomikos, where he drives strategic partnerships and commercial growth. As the company’s first employee, he represents a new kind of business leader shaped inside the AI transition—bringing a modern commercial instinct for translating AI capability into clear, practical value for enterprise buyers. His approach is outcomes-first: building partnerships that hold up through procurement, implementation, and daily use, not just executive enthusiasm.
Baker’s perspective on adoption is personal. He has experienced hiring processes where AI systems screened candidates and influenced outcomes with limited human involvement. That sharpened his view of governance: when organizations remove human judgment from high-stakes decisions, they may gain efficiency but risk losing accountability. At Nomikos, he advocates for adoption models that preserve human oversight, decision transparency, and real interaction, ensuring AI strengthens decision-making rather than quietly replacing it.
His path reflects an intentional shift from political science into business, shaped by an interest in how institutions, incentives, and cross-border dynamics drive outcomes. He was an alternate for the Fulbright Binational Business Grant in Mexico City, and before joining Nomikos, supported research and operations in patent monetization at VideoLabs—experience that deepened his understanding of how innovation becomes business value and how to partner effectively across technical and commercial teams.
